How to Make a Matcha
Simple Steps or a Perfect Matcha 🌟
Preparing Matcha can be a relaxing consistent routine, creating a moment of calm and mindfulness in your day.
Here's our simple guide to make the perfect cup of matcha every time using an electric whisk.
What You'll Need
- Daily Matcha Powder
- A Cup
- A Whisk (we recommend the Daily Matcha Electric Whisk)
- A Teaspoon
- Hot water (not boiling, about 80°C)
- Optional: Sieve - this helps with getting clumps out of the powder, making it easier to mix.
The Daily Matcha Latte Guide
-
Step 1: Sift the Matcha
Start by sifting half to one teaspoon (1-2g) of Daily Matcha powder into your cup using your Sieve.
Sifting helps to break up any clumps for a smooth mouthfeel.
Don't worry if you don’t have a sieve, because the electric whisk does a decent job at breaking up any clumps of matcha.
-
Step 2: Add Hot Water & Whisk, Whisk Whisk!
Pour a small amount (about 30ml) of hot water (80°C.) into the cup with the sifted Matcha and then Whisk.
With your whisk, combine the matcha and water together through circular motions for about 20-30 seconds.
You'll know it's ready when you have created a frothy layer on the surface with tiny bubbles.
-
Step 3: Adjust to Taste
Optional:Add your sweetener of choice and whisk again until combined. Popular sweeteners are sugar, maple syrup, honey or agave syrup. Our favorite is Organic Maple Syrup.
-
Step 4: Enjoy!
Pour your matcha mixture over hot milk to enjoy a hot matcha latte, or over ice and milk to enjoy an iced matcha latte.

Tips for the Perfect Matcha
Use Fresh Matcha ☘️
For the best flavour and health benefits, use fresh, high-quality matcha powder.
Use Hot, Not Boiling Water 🥵
Avoid using boiling water if you can. Boiling water can burn the matcha and make it taste bitter.
Make Sure to Clean Your Tools 🧽
Matcha stains are hard to get rid of! Gently wash your electric whisk with soap and water after each use to keep them in good condition. Avoid getting the handle wet.
